Waiting, waiting - 5 March
The DHL courier is ruining my day. Having paid the extra 6.50 for overnight delivery (I'm all about the as-close-to-instant-gratification-as-you-can-get thing) and, having seen from the website that my package has been in the van since 11:30 this morning, I am now staring out the window waiting. I cannot concentrate on work or anything else as every time I hear an engine, I look up, and there's quite a bit of traffic in this neck of the woods. What am I waiting for? More technology of course! I'll spare you the details. Holy fucking mother of god. There's less than two weeks to go before I'll have three children. The frogs are back. They have taken up residence in the pond which is clotted with spawn. Sally's mum, when she heard about the chimney fire, said that she'd been meaning to tell us that the birds had been dropping sticks down the chimney for a while now. Jackdaws, or similar, are sitting on the other chimney now. Taunting me. They chack! down the chimney and they sound like they're in the house. Tippi Hedren, where are you? Ignatius Loyola founded the Jesuits. I have more curtains to hang. Mimi Smartypants does this so much better. |
