Done - 7 November

Almost done, anyway.  After two months of this crap, I now have about an hour and a half of video on three CDs.  I burned five sets this afternoon (which took me far too long) and they are sitting in envelopes on my desk, waiting to be FedEx-ed to Japan, Australia (x 2), California and the Phillipines.  I was too late to send them today, so out they go on Monday.

Phew

I came home and there were no lights on.  The moon was shouldering it's way through the clouds and it was quite bright so I didn't notice that there were no lights on anywhere.

Power cut.

As I arrived, Sally's mum and the kids were breaking out the candles (Sally's off enjoying herself). We have gas for cooking so dinner wasn't a problem and we ate by candle light and then in the true tradition of Making Our Own Entertainment, tried to get Paddy to sing Row, Row, Row your boat. He wanted to play hide and seek, which isn't much of a challenge with him as he always says where he's going to hide.  But it was dark and he fought off (imaginary) invading spiders with his torch and then -- the lights came on.  And Anna ran off to watch Coronation St. And I went to check my email.

Maybe power cuts are god's way of telling you to get off the internet.

I had a small smile moment on my way home the other night. It was very blustery and rainy and dark and I was on the final stretch for home, when I saw a frog in my headlights. Hopping. Across the road. I swerved to avoid it (and did) thinking "frogger".

The clouds have gone and the sky is clear, but I've discovered that the lunar eclipse is tomorrow night, not tonight.  I hope it's as clear then as it is now.
